LAKEWOOD, Ohio -
The Lakewood Police Department tells Fox 8 News that an Akron man was arrested on vehicular assault charges early Saturday morning.
According to a press release from Lakewood PD, at approximately 11:25 a.m. on October 3rd, police received a call for a hit-skip accident that occurred on St. Charles and Detroit Avenue.
Witnesses told police that a blue car fled the scene and continued westbound on Detroit. A short time later, the suspect's car struck an RTA bus at Warren Rd. and Detroit Avenue, and continued westbound down that road.
Moments later, the suspect struck a pedestrian in the area of Cook and Detroit. The pedestrian was taken to Lakewood Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Two more hit-skip accidents were reported to police near the areas of Riverside Dr. and Webb Rd.
Some time later, Lakewood Police were able to stop the suspect's vehicle and arrest the 21-year-old driver.
The suspect's identity is unknown at this time. He was arrested for aggravated vehicular assault, and more charges are pending.
Police are still investigating the series of accidents.
