CLEVELAND -- There are many reasons Cleveland Browns tickets are not hot sellers right now. The team is down and so is the economy.
The Cleveland Browns have a big Monday night football game on November 16th. The one and six team needs to sell thousands more tickets or the game will not air on Cleveland television. "We have several thousand tickets available for that game," said Bill Bonsiewicz, Browns Vice President of Communications.
The game in jeopardy is against the Baltimore Ravens. The NFL has rules about televising games. If you don't sell out, you risk a blackout, meaning your game won't be shown on local television.
This is the first time since the Browns returned to Cleveland in 1999 that they are in danger of being blacked out of Monday night football.
The Browns say they understand why tickets aren't moving, but they are urging their fans to stick with them. "We hear you, we agree with you, we are frustrated yes, but we are working very hard to get this thing right and one of the things that makes this franchise so special is our fans," said Bonsiewicz.
Tickets start at $32.00 a piece. Pepsi is offering a promotional coupon right now. On select cans of Pepsi, you will find a $5.00 coupon.
You can bring the can to the Browns Box Office to get $5.00 of the cost of your ticket.
