LORAIN, Ohio - They're supposed to be man's best friend, but the bond between two stray dogs is unbreakable.

A poodle mix and Rottweiller were found along 28th Street in Lorain on Monday. The poodle refused to leave the Rottweiller which has a large tumor on its hind leg. "It appears to be a mast cell [cancer], but I don't know that for certain," says Dr. Craig Talbott who runs the Lorain County Animal Emergency Center. "[It's] potentially metastatic, meaning it could have spread."

Both animals were taken to Dr. Talbott's clinic by a passer-by who found the dogs in the middle of the road. "Both of them get along very well. They eat together, they show no aggression," says Dr. Talbott.

The poodle needs a trim, but the Rottweiller may need her leg amputated. Dr. Talbott says her condition is treatable but costly. He hopes someone comes forward to help with the expenses and provide a good home."

"Whoever did own them did a good job socializing the two of them and I would hope they'd come back to pick them up."
