Fox 8 News has learned that a drug sweep at Shaw High School has lead to the arrest of Leon Hines, the school's popular basketball coach.
The police chief of East Cleveland says a small amount of marijuana was found in Hines' vehicle.
Hines denied that the drug belonged to him but was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana.
The chief says if it's proven that the drugs belong to Hines, he has violated the trust placed in him by the students, parents and the administration at Shaw High.
The East Cleveland School District issued a statement that indicates any employment consequences for Hines will be addressed once the investigation has been completed.
