SOUTHINGTON, Ohio - The death of a local teen and serious injury to two more, is reminding us of the dangers of huffing, or inhaling chemicals from an aerosol can.

Police say 17-year old Christie Manchester of Trumbull County, died after crashing into a tree.

Her friends who were in the car with her, say they were all huffing from an air duster.

Dr. Philip Fragassi, medical director of the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Detention Center, says huffing just once, can kill you.

"Please, please, please stay away from huffing because it is very dangerous and you don't know what you're getting and you don't know what will happen," said Dr. Fragassi.

Huffing is also difficult to treat because it is hard to determine what chemicals someone may have inhaled.
