John Thompson, known as "Big Dawg", pleaded no contest to a drinking and driving charge.
Thompson was arrested after witnesses at a Cleveland bar called 911 after they say he stumbled out of the bar and then started driving.
Thompson says since his arrest he has joined AA and today he told the judge how sorry he was for his actions.
"Since my arrest your honor, I got involved with AA and have been very diligent in going to meetings," said Thompson, "I have been to 20 in 21 days. I got a sponsor. I feel like I'm taking the right steps and in the right direction to change my life in that way. I've had to go through quite a bit to change it in the past and I'm looking forward to being able to change it now."
The judge sentenced Thompson to three days in an "alternative to jail" program.
His license is also suspended for six months.
Thompson did tell us he plans on going to the browns home opener this Sunday, but he will not be drinking!
