A Mansfield woman is recovering after her daughter's dogs brutally attacked her Monday night.
Richland County Dog Warden Dave Jordan says the two bulldog mixes, chewed through two and possibly three doors, before attacking 52-year-old Jerry Brent.
Jordan said when he arrived, the dogs were still very aggressive.
"They were charging at the front window and I was able to get them into a back bedroom," said Jordan, "I was able to snare the large tan female dog with my control pole."
While one dog was under control, Jordan says the second female dog, charged him in an aggressive manner.
Jordan says he eventually had to shoot and kill that dog because it continued to try and viciously attack.
The victim was taken to the hospital with multiple bites and laceration over her entire body. She is now recovering at home.
The surviving dog is now at the Richland County Dog Shelter, in quarantine.
It will be euthanized within the next 10 days.
Warden Jordan says it is not clear what provoked the two dogs.
