PARMA -
A Parma Police Officer is recovering after he was involved in an accident early Sunday morning.
Police Spokesman Marty Compton says the officer was responding to a call at about 1 a.m. when he ran the plate of a suspicious vehicle.
The police database showed that the car was reported stolen from Euclid.
The officer tried to stop it, but the driver took off, and a chase followed.
Police say that during the pursuit, the suspect intentionally swerved into the cruiser, forcing it into a parked car.
The impact caused the cruiser to go flip over and land on its roof.
The officer was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center for evaluation, where he was treated and released.
Police say the suspect got away; the officer describes the vehicle as a white, 4-door Buick with the license plate: AC35FC.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Parma Police at 440.887.7340.
