The day after Thanksgiving, many Northeast Ohioans woke up to see their front lawns covered in snow!

For the first time this winter, Mother Nature paid a visit to several communities south of downtown.

Cities like Parma, Strongsville and North Royalton were hit with 1-2 inches of snow.

Michael Nassif was in town from Virginia visiting family. When he woke up Friday morning, he said, "I was surprised."

Others say, they're simply not ready for the cold weather yet. "I'm not ready for it. It's going to be a long winter I think," says Stephanie Rodriguez.

But, whether you like it or not, winter is approaching faster than you know it.

Families bundled up and headed out for opening day at the Toboggan Chutes at Stream Run Mill in Strongsville.

Bob Mys said, "We come every year the day after Thanksgiving. It kind of puts us in the holiday spirit."
