Detectives from the Alliance Police Department confirm to Fox 8 News that they have arrested two women in connection with the death of a 20-year-old woman.
According to a press release from the Alliance Criminal Investigations Unit, officers arrested Misty Goodwin, 22, and Lori Osterland, 40, on warrants from the Alliance Municipal Court.
Both women were charged with one count of involuntary manslaughter, and one count of furnishing liquor to an underage person.
An investigation into the death of 20-year-old Carrie Goodwin by Alliance Det. Don Wensel, led to the arrests of the women.
Carrie Goodwin's body was discovered in the back seat of a vehicle in the early morning on February 28, 2009, on the 200th block of E. Main St., according to police.
A coroner report ruled that Goodwin died of Acute Alcohol Intoxication, and Hypothermia.
Also according to the press release, Det. Wensel learned the women allegedly supplied the alcohol to Cari Goodwin, which ultimately contributed to her death.
Goodwin and Osterland then allegedly left the unconscious 20-year-old in the car and went into the Town Tavern Bar on E. Main St., Det. Wensel reports.
The outside temperature at that time was 23 degrees.
Both women are being held at the Stark Co. Jail, after failing to post their $26,000 bond.
