WAYNE COUNTY, Ohio -- A Wayne County man is sentenced to prison Wednesday, after pleading guilty to complicity in the shooting death of his wife.

Eli Weaver will spend 15 years behind bars, after admitting to helping plan his wife Barbara's murder.

He says he told another defendant, Barbara Raber, how to get into his family's house. Raber is accused of actually firing the fatal shot and charged with aggravated murder.

Barbara Weaver's family was in court Wednesday, but they did not make a statement.

Prosecutors tell Fox 8 the legal system is very 'new' to Barbara Weaver's family.

The defendant asked for forgiveness just before his sentencing. "I'm very sorry for what I did, and I hope everybody here can forgive me for what I did," Eli Weaver said.

The murder, which happened back in June, left the Weaver's five young children without a mother.
