WESTLAKE, Ohio -- A local company came to the rescue after a car was stolen with some precious cargo inside.

Management of the health store Max-Wellness in Westlake donated a new wheelchair to Carol Chapple after hearing her story on FOX 8 News. Her old chair was inside her husband's car, which was stolen on Sunday from the parking lot at St. Monica's in Garfield Heights.

"Our founder is Michael Feuer, who is the founder of Office Max," said Gayle McCormick from Max-Wellness. "He's part of this community and feels real strongly about giving back to Cleveland."

"I'm shocked," said Carol Chapple. "I've never won anything in my life. I feel like this is Christmas, you know?"

Carol has several health problems and was left helpless without the wheelchair. "I can walk from here to there because my heart is so weak, it won't pump the oxygen that I need, that you need, to breathe to walk."

"Carol and Jerry are an example of people who've worked hard all their life and have had some things come up, medical issues and some needs, so to do one small thing for them was really important," said McCormick.

"We were really surprised," said Jerry Chapple, "I don't know really what to say and both of us were overwhelmed by the deal so it was more than nice."

The Garfield Heights Police Department is still investigating.
