WILLOUGHBY, Ohio -
Don't drink the water. At least don't drink it before you boil it.
That's the advice for some Willoughby residents.
The Lake County Department of Utilities repaired a portion of waterline on Kirtland Road.
And, because of this, a boil alert has been issued for the following streets:
Figgie Drive; Sherwin Road; Kirtland Road (South of I-90); and the west side of State Route 306 (from I-90 to Kirtland Rd.).
The flushing of fire hydrants in the area may cause discolored water. If this occurs, run a cold water faucet until your water clears.
The boil alert will remain in place until tests confirm the water is safe to use. The process could take several days.
Residents with questions are urged to call The Aquarius Water Treatment Plant at 440-918-3420.
