Crews in southern Idaho have contained 10 percent of a lightning-sparked fire that began Saturday and has scorched more than 510 square miles.
And in California, fires are burning northwest of Los Angeles, in Yosemite National Park and near Mount Diablo State Park. The fire near L.A. has roared through 1,300 acres. Yosemite's blaze has blackened 160 acres since Aug. 9. The fire near Mount Diablo is almost contained after covering 375 acres.
