Andre Bernier

Meteorologist Andre' Bernier teams up with Dick Goddard to deliver Cleveland's most trusted forecast on Fox 8 News at 5, 6 and 10 p.m.

For more than 20 years, André delivered weather forecasts on Fox 8 News in the Morning. From 5 to 9 a.m., Andre' did the weather from the station's outdoor set -- a concept that he developed and introduced to Cleveland television.

Prior to joining WJW in January of 1988, Andre' served as staff meteorologist for KARE-TV in Minneapolis.

In 1982, André was on the launch team for The Weather Channel, where he served as a morning meteorologist until 1985. He also served as the staff meteorologist at KGAN-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, from 1981-82.

André's broadcast career had an early jump-start at the age of 15 as a weekend weathercaster for WBSM-AM in his hometown of New Bedford, Mass.

Andre' is a 1981 graduate of Vermont's Lyndon State College with a bachelor of science degree in meteorology.

André is married to Cleveland native Sally Bernier, who is also a degreed meteorologist. They have a son, Noah, born in June of 1997.

In addition to his passion for meteorology, André is also an ordained minister.

After nearly a decade of post-graduate seminary studies at Southern Baptist Seminary, Trinity Seminary and Global University, he was ordained by an ordination council which convened at Grace Community Church in Massillon, Ohio in May of 2004.  He is active in ministry as a creative arts pastor at Fellowship Bible Church in Bainbridge, Ohio.

André enjoys digital film production and is credited with producing and directing two feature length films, including: a Christmas drama and a documentary -- both of which were filmed in Ohio.

Both he and his wife, Sally, are licensed pilots. André became instrument rated in February 2010 and their son, Noah, has many hours of instruction time on his way to becoming a licensed pilot as well.

André also enjoys the outdoors and has a special fondness for mountain climbing and downhill skiing.

André is currently working on completing his third book, "The Extra Mile: A Celebration Of People," due out by December of 2010.
