EAST CANTON, Ohio -
A 15-year-old girl riding in a car with her boyfriend and her grandmother is dead following and accident police say was caused by a drunk driver.
The Ohio Highway Patrol says the crash happened on US 30 in East Canton Wednesday night. 57-year-old Cynthia Miner was driving west on Route 30 when her car was hit from behind by another car driven by 35-year-old Christina Faulkner. Miner's car went off the road, hit a tree and overturned.
15-year-old Angie Baker, who was in the back seat, was thrown from the car. She was pronounced dead at the scene. 18-year-old Joey Lyon, who was also in the back seat, was treated and released for his injuries. Miner is in the intensive care unit at Mercy Medical Center.
Police say Faulkner's car went off the other side of the road and ended up in a ditch. They say she got out and walked away from the scene. Paramedics responding to the scene found her. She was treated for her injuries and taken into custody.
Faulkner is charged with leaving the scene of an accident, DUI, aggravated vehicular assault and aggravated vehicular homicide. Police say she was also driving with a suspended license.
Thursday evening, Angie's family visited the scene of the crash.
"She was always happy and bubbly, she wouldn't let anything get her down," Angie's mother Dawn Weaver said, "I just can't believe it, I'm going to miss her so much."
Weaver say her mother is expected to be ok, though she has numerous broken bones.
Angie's family is making funeral arrangements.
