Thursday afternoon, 29-year-old Mark Mann was charged with murder in the death of his fiance, 33-year-old Samantha Anielski.
Wednesday morning, Anielski was found dead at her home on Alliance Road in Palmyra. Mann called 911 and told dispatchers she was unresponsive. "There's no pulse. I can't revive her. Her mouth is split. I can't get an airway," said Mann.
When rescuers arrived, Anielski was found dead in the bedroom. According to her brother-in-law, Anielski and Mann were engaged for about a year. "They got along well. They wanted to get married, everything seemed like it was going ok," said Steve Michniak.
During Mann's arraignment on Thursday afternoon, a Ravenna Municipal Court Judge set his bond at two million dollars.
According to the Ohio Army National Guard, Mann has served since May 2000.
Family members say Anielski recently worked as a hair stylist in Aurora and grew up in Streetsboro. "She was just a loving person, a kind person," said Michniak.
The Portage County Sheriff says the exact cause of death is not being released at this time.
Mann is currently being held in the Portage County Jail. He is scheduled to be back in court for a preliminary hearing on October 16th.
