LAKEWOOD, Ohio -- People from all over the Cleveland area gathered yesterday with one thing in mind..."Free Otis, Free Otis!"
Those two words were shouted over and over again, in support of "Otis", the dog who was tasered by a Lakewood Police officer last Saturday.
Protesters of the tasering marched through the streets of Lakewood, holding signs and demanding that Otis be returned to his owner.
Last Saturday, Otis was running loose which caused the police officers to feel threatened enough to taser him.
The incident has triggered both outrage and support for the officers' actions.
Otis has been held in a shelter ever since. His owner, Daniel Kier, has been cited for keeping a dangerous animal and having a dog at large.
Kier will have a chance to fight for Otis this morning in a hearing at the Lakewood Law Department.
Supporters of the owner and his beloved pooch say they will be there as well.
