A teenager who police say threatened classmates then took off armed in a stolen truck, will be brought back to Ohio this weekend to face charges.

Authorities in Tennessee say Calvin Riley, 13, used a pay phone to call police, after he called his mother Wednesday evening...she convinced her son to surrender.

"He was at a pay phone in front of the Exxon and basically just told the officer that he had ran away and he'd stolen a truck, and had driven from Ohio and ended up here, he really didn't know where he was," said Dayton, Tennessee Police Chief Chris Sneed.

Investigators say Riley stole the pickup from a neighbor in Norwalk then drove more than 530 miles to Dayton, Tennessee, North of Chattanooga. Police say they found two rifles and 400 rounds of ammunition inside.

He told police one rifle was already in the truck when he took it.

"(He was) very cooperative, 'yes sir, no sir', no issues whatsoever, and basically he just told the officer that he was a runaway," added Sneed.

Norwalk Catholic Schools re-opened Thursday morning.

The principal first met with the 7th grader's classmates in the adjoining church sanctuary.

"Actually I pointed out to them that really we were praying first really out of thanksgiving to God because as hard of a situation as it was, there was a very good resolution," said principal Jim Tokarsky.

The schools were closed Wednesday after authorities found a makeshift diary in Calvin's locker.

They say it included the names of 33 students and teachers and indicated he would get revenge.

"After our investigation I think we'll have a better understanding what his intent was, with the threatening note, with the weapons, and the stolen vehicle...like Captain Patrick said, we proceeded very cautiously," said Huron County Sheriff Dane Howard.

Police believe Calvin Riley was headed to Florida to, as they put it, live off the land in a survivor man mentality.

He's being held in juvenile detention in Tennessee until he's brought back to Huron County to face charges.

Sheriff's deputies will go to Tennessee to pick up Calvin Riley on Friday, they will return to Ohio on Saturday.

For now he's being charged with one count of inducing panic.

He could later be charged with auto theft and being unruly.
